I wish I could still fill my house with tulips every day. One of the very few drawbacks of living in the Caribbean is that tulips don't seem to survive nor grow here very well. While living in Amsterdam it was such a delightful pleasure, come rain or shine, to walk home from the flower shop, over the cannel bridges, passed historic buildings, with my arms filled with flowers, usually with very unusual tulips. My house would be filled with a sweet scent and even in the winter time, there would be a little spring in our lives.
