uninhabited

Klein Curacao
August 17, 2013

The island we live on is already quite small. And though most people do not know it, our island nation consists of 2 islands, Curacao and Klein Curacao (small Curacao). Our tiny Klein Curacao is uninhabited, save for the daily tourists visiting the island after a 1.5hour boat ride.
It is a sweet little paradise of a white sandy beach and crystal blue water, with the mountains of Curacao fading in the back. Quite idyllic actually.
On Saturday we had a quick visit to the island. Enjoyed a bit of walking and of course the wonderful sea.

summer love

Yep, it's only Thursday, but I am already looking forward to the weekend and heading to the beach.
It is always so relaxing and beautiful to be out on the ocean, surrounded  by so much blue.
The water is such a nice temperature this time of year, it's summer and the kids are playing in the sand and on the slides.
Island living - this is definitely one of the perks of living in Curacao.

happy friday

Images via Pinterest and

This morning I went for a morning-swim (at 7.20am). The water....hmmm.... quite chilly at first, but after a while it was divine. My weekend started with the appreciation for the Caribbean weather. I know it is cold and snowing in some places, so we need to appreciate the warmth wherever we can find it.....even if it is all the way in Morrocco for some people ;) So I decided to share some of this island beauty of Curacao with you (see images 2,4 and 6)

Tomorrow I will be starting my photography course, painting a Chichi (more on that to follow) and hopefully enjoy a few more swims.
Have a splendid weekend.
Enjoy.
Smile loads.
Look for the details.

beach days

Images via Pinterest and from own collection
Pictures 2 and 5 were taken on the paradise island of Curacao

It is Wednesday, and I am happy to note I have the afternoon off and will be heading to the boat with my friends later on today. There is nothing like a mid-week dip in the clear turquoise  ocean of the Caribbean.
Have a beautiful day, wherever it is that you are today.
Smile loads.

It's going to be busy and so much fun. Thursday we have the first BBQ planned flowed by loads of beach days, amazing music and a ton of activities.

So this weekend, it will still be a bit of relaxing and loads of preparations.

Have a great weekend.

beach days

Images from own collection and Printrest

I know....it is just Wednesday, but in light of the long weekend ahead I am already looking forward to many days at the beach, catching up on my tan, (mind you I use sunblock 70....but....hmmm a minor glow to the body is always welcome), loads of swimming and enjoying the island. (It's like a mini-vacation at home).

Have a beautiful day.

happy monday

Good morning and welcome to another wonderful week in 2012. I often say that I miss Europe or any big city for the wonderful nights out and parties one can have there (as to say that here on the island it some-times feels as if we are somehow missing out on that). I have to say that yesterday I was one of the lucky ones to enjoy an amazing party on the water. Boats from Aruba and Bonaire joined us in Curacao for an epic Fuikdag. I danced for 6 hours on a yacht to great music (this boat has a sound system that should be in a night-club), surrounded by great people and of course delicious champagne. Today I miraculously woke up full of energy (ok, I was in bed by 9pm, exhausted) and enjoying all the great pictures and video's people are sharing. If ever you have a chance to be in Curacao for Fuikdag, I am sure you will have the time of your life as well. Today it is back to healthy eating, getting loads of work done and simply enjoying.
 Have a splendid week.
Smile loads.
