receiving mail

I love sending little post cards to my friends (snail mail...which it is unfortunately called these days) somehow still gives a bit more excitement than an e-mail. Yesterday, I received more than just a little note: I received the British Vogue sent all the way from Leiden to Curacao. Such a delight. Though it is unfortunate that it is not available on the island, it does give it some more significance when it is sent or brought from anywhere else in the world to my mailbox.

I was spoiled once again with an eddition of the British Vogue this week.  There is a (somewhat) calming photo editiorial in this months' issue, I found some of the images on Dustjacket Attic. I absolutely love her outfits.

Ah Sunflower, weary of time,

Who countest the steps of the sun;

Seeking after that sweet golden clime

Where the traveller's journey is done;

Where the Youth pined away with desire,

And the pale virgin shrouded in snow,

Arise from their graves, and aspire

Where my Sunflower wishes to go!

colour me beautiful

From Vogue Australia

The rain has stopped falling (for now) on my paradise island. The skies are clear blue, the water on the roads finally drying up and the days are once again filled with colour. We leave behind the coziness that the rain has brought us and we celebrate the brightness which the sun gives us.

I hope your days are filled with colour.

indulgence

Image from here

Today, by surprise, I received the October issue of the British Vogue. One of my most wonderful escapes every month. It is not sold here on the island, but through some great people each month I have the honour of receiving the British, the French, the Australian or sometimes even the Japanese Vogue.

This month a combination of Russian Dolls, Dreams and Golden Glories come together to make yet another great indulgence. But most important, it is back to red lipstick. Hmmmm…are you ready girls?
