"I don't understand how a woman can leave the house without fixing herself up a little - if only out of politeness. And then, you never know, maybe that's the day she has a date with destiny. And it's best to be as pretty as possible for destiny"

The Byzantine Empire, one centered around the capital of Constantinople, ruled by emperors, inhabited by the powerful, the cultured and the prevailing. With gorgeous colours and hints of gold Karl Lagerfeld has yet again created an extraordinary collection.
The Empress Theodora, from the early 6th century was the creative muse for Lagerfeld, who noted that Theodora, first a circus performer before becoming Empress, shared a similar unusual destiny as Coco Chanel.

Paris Fashion Week

It is fashion week in the city of lights and yesterday was the ever so wonderful Chanel show. Karl Lagerfeld created, as always, an exceptional collection representing both the chic that is Coco and the imagination that is Karl. One of the aspects I always enjoy about these shows is the presentation, the scene and the universal dream you are transported to, even when only looking at the photos.
