the pilgrim soul in you

When you are old and grey and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;

How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face;

And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.

books

If there is one thing I love when I enter my office, it is the sight of my books. Books I’ve reads, books I have yet to read, books that look pretty and others that have inspired me. There is usually not a day that goes by that I don’t read or listen to a book (hmm some people don’t consider this reading, but I love my Audible App). Last year I read 34 books. This year I’ll probably take it a bit easier; my goal on Goodreads is 25 for 2019.

My books are not just for me. They are shared amongst friends, colleagues and random people I meet. Sometimes they return to me, other times they go out into the world and stay there.

The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.

almost 2019

The sound of the “pagara’s” echo around me. It is only the 28th, but it being Friday, many people seem keen on getting the celebrations started. This is the sound of New Years. The sound of reflection, of memories and of goals yet to be made. It is somehow also the sound of new beginnings, of better intentions and renewed hope. 2018 was full of travel, surprises and unexpected opportunities - let’s see what 2019 will bring.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

do you lunya?

A few months ago I “discovered” Lunya. Do I sleep better? I’d say so. It’s so comfortable I’d love to walk around in Lunya all day.

I walked by my bedroom mirror and marveled at my outfit – I was wearing my husband’s old frat t-shirt and rolled up boxer briefs. In the pursuit of comfort, I had let the wheels fall off. This realization sent me on a journey to find comfortable, flattering sleepwear, but the options available didn’t match the modern woman I was or wanted to be.

I realized that even though you spend over one-third of your life in bed, sleepwear tends to be the most undervalued part of your wardrobe. It became my mission to make sure that women could feel both comfortable and confident.
