hello monday

The silence was exquisite. The water, without its ripples, as clear as a glass of water. The tiny white fish just waking up. It was 7am on Saturday morning. The birds in the mangroves were only just coming out from between the leaves. We sat on the pier, admiring the view, with the hummingbird hovering next to me. This is what island life is about for me. These are those special moments. This was the beginning of our vacation like weekend.

The view from the pier.

From the pier we watched how the couple on the sailboat, pictured above, prepared the sails and the ropes. As they pulled up the front sails for testing, the wind - as subtle as it was, turned the boat around ever so gently. Beautiful. The lady, unsatisfied with the result of the sails, pulled them down again for readjustment. Then the sails went up again. It seemed as if they were going on a tour. However, after the trial runs and securing the sails back into their positions, they made their way to breakfast. Just another morning in the Caribbean on sailboat.

The next morning the boat was still there.

It should be noted that the lady did most of the hard work during this exercise. Pulling the rope, adjusting the sails and moving the heavy chunk of sails across the boat. An impressive sight.

And now, because of the wonderful weekend with our families and all the swimming, we are ready for the week ahead.

Thank you for all the amazing support and comments regarding the book. Truly special.

Have a great week. xx Pris.
