bonaire

Bonaire is a short boat ride away from Curacao. Only about 19.000 people live on the island. There are no traffic lights and the main street is a short, but beautiful row of buildings. The island, known as a divers paradise, has translucent ocean colors. The rays of the sun light descend ever so softly on the surface to reach the depths of the ocean. Simply standing on the pier you can see the array of fishes swim by. A stunning view to wake up to in the morning.

Though the island is small, and caters mainly to divers, wind - and kite -surfers, there are also some culinary delights. One of which is Capriccio. The owners moved to Bonaire almost 2 decades ago and have been preparing their Italian delights ever since. Their wine list is exquisite. (and so it their homemade sorbetto).
