On December 31st, around 11am in the morning, in Curacao, the New Year's celebrations get going. Most other countries start a bit later - at least with the fireworks part. But here we tend to do things differently. And this is one spectacular day on this tiny island.
The crates, filled with fireworks, come out, the roads end up red and everyone is in a festive mood. I usually start at my mother's shop and then drive to numerous other companies enjoying the festivities and fireworks.
In the evening it is time for family, more fireworks and naturally, a good bottle of champagne to ring in the New Year.
2014 was a wonderful year - filled with surprises. I never expected to write a book - and well, here it is now - Curacao: Banda Ariba, due to some very sweet Divas. We visited Dubai, flew a few times to Amsterdam, hopped on a jet to New York, enjoyed the world cup in Hamburg, took the Blue Turtle out for many relaxing rides and spent another amazing year with my loved ones. I can only be thankful. :)
Have a splendid day today. I wish you the best for 2015 - may it be filled with laughter.
Thank you for visiting this year - see you in 2015. xx Pris
