bring out the sweets
December is a month of celebrations. Between Sinterklaas (Dutch holiday), my birthday, Christmas and New Years, there is an extensive amount of desserts - cakes, cupcakes, lemon tarts, chocolates, puddings, cheese cakes, apple tarts - that are enjoyed. Though I love eating them, I am not the best person to make them. So I order. (That counts, right?)
My favorite are chocolate ganache mini cupcakes. They are divine (this is a regular order throughout the year I must admit). And for Christmas dinner I've ordered individual cheese cakes for everyone. I am sure they will all look as pretty as the dessert below.

It's that time of year when we are all looking for those perfect gifts. Some people are a bit more difficult to buy for than others, but there is usually something great out there for everyone, - and at every price.

It's Monday. So wonderful. December is such a festive month as we all know and on this tiny island it seems like the streets are so much busier, the restaurants fuller, and everyone is a bit anxious.
This week all that happiness and holiday cheer will start with a number of great events. BECK Dutch Caribbean will have their annual presentation of their new collection. So curious to see what beautiful creations Rebecca will provide us with this year.
We will be having our company Christmas dinner at Kome - delicious and cheerful, we look forward to the culinary creations of Dave and Susan.
And then there are the dinners with friends, birthday parties (there will even be a Brazilian BBQ) and not to mention all the champagne that this time of year brings. Splendid.
