On this cloudy and drizzly day in Ibiza - Aubergine offered the perfect refuge for a coffee and a health kick of a juice (which I seriously needed). Aubergine is part of the Atzaro group; which does interiors, experiences and food so well. Aubergine is a farm to table restaurant with a cute shop in a serene setting.

Ibiza; for most this is a “love at first sight” type of place. For me it took time; time to appreciate the landscape, time to identify the unique energy generated here, time to understand that there is a rhythm here like no other and time to make life long friends. Now, almost 15 years after my first visit, I still discover new wonders and am as besotted with the place as ever.
It feels a little bit like coming home every time I visit. Maybe it’s the “island life” vibe, maybe it’s the flow of life or maybe the frequency and intensity of each visit.
This is a place where contracts are woven together; where you and everyone else can be completely themselves or completely reinvent themselves.

Mikasa is located on the edge of Marina Botafoch, right by the yachts, a little down from the cruise and cargo terminal and across the water from Dalt Villa - the view is magnificent, the energy is ever-present and the terrace is secluded enough to remind you of the serenity that Ibiza always offers. The quiet town of Sant Joan in Ibiza seemed deserted during the lunch hours as we made our way from the parking lot to the Giri cafe. Siesta was going on and it was noticeable. Once inside the restaurant however, the atmosphere changed completely. Here were families, couples and friends enjoying their mid-day cava and soaking in the sun on the daybeds in the vegetable garden or enjoying a delicious lunch on the restaurant's patio. This is more than a cafe - it is a place to retreat to. When in Ibiza do make a point to drive up North and enjoy this place. Or stay at the Giri residence for a few days to truly recharge and engage your senses.
