I've always been a conscious foodie; having a "balance day" here and there, ensuring I don't over do it on the pasta, rice or potatoes and drinking incredible amounts of water each day. Now it seems that with the trend on conscious consuming, health magazines and a ton a research (no one really has the time to read), I too am adding home-made vegetable/fruit smoothies and Phu're teas to my daily consumption. I am not one to over do anything. So the milk in my cappuccino is not soy, the potatoes (in small quantities) still make it to my BBQ and there is that cup of ice-cream I have in the freezer.
This whole craze is probably a counter action of all the obesity and unhealthy eating patterns we have become accused to, but I have to say that when done in moderation (and more for health than diet), it is just so nice to think of the ingredients you are adding to your body for energy.
So have fun, healthy and movement-filled weekend, so that on Monday you will be energized and happy.
